Cold wintery days are here. Small blustering gusts of snow glitter in the air and the cold nips at my nose now. Time for hot cocoa with little marshmallows dotting the tops, warm cosy duvets, DVD marathons on the weekends off, and knitting. I can't wait to finish this cowl and wear it out. I'm sure my nose will appreciate it too. love love Miss...
Lately I can't stop thinking about the fun I'm going to have being hands on with my Autumn wardrobe. This Wiksten tank pattern has been on my wish list for ages and I've already got fabric in mind. The tank will be my practice before I use Megan Nielsen's Darling Ranges dress sew along to construct my dress right. I think a fabric I...
I've spent a lot of time away from my blog lately. Summer has been busy. Most of the time I've had has been spent looking after my garden at mum's place and knitting. I plan to use my space here more to share recipes and all these projects I got going on dreaming up in my head. Tons of sewing plans! Up...
1. these seeds, because I thought I would never find them. 2. this shirt, because I love bike riding more than anything and miss it so much. 3. this pattern, because I know as soon as I am done I'll have to wear it out some place fun. So far this week (it's only Monday!) I've enjoyed several cups of tea, told myself...
This, my friends, is only the beginning to my gardening adventures. Last year I came to a compromise with my mother that I would be the one to take care of our garden. What a huge task! Was I thinking right? Who knows! The forever-optimistic-me knows that this will end in learning. Perhaps I won't have the largest harvest I could of had, but I...
This, dearies, is how I started out my week. Macarons from Le Petite Thuet on King St.W The salted caramel flavour wasn't bad, but the coconut was the best! (I had forgotten I hated raspberry anything) They ran out of mint chocolate, which I still want to try. That beautiful sweater up there in mint, it's my new favourite anything. It's so soft...
Since catching this horrible cold Thursday, I've been pinned inside. Instead of wasting my time worrying about whether I'll ditch this cold by work or not, I decided to pick up my crocheting again. Yarn-bending anyone? I made this lovely light and airy pound cake too. Today just topped it all off with fresh home made pizza. I never want take out again! love love...
I got my very own copy of Stylish Dress Book 3 in the mail this week and I've been pouring over the images and Japanese trying to figure it out. I think I understand most of what it's asking of me for the first pattern I would like to try (pictured below). I've added a few other pictures of my next sewing endeavours when...
I cannot begin to explain to you how grateful I am for these simple, crafty skills I have had encouraged to me by my mother and friends. My mother taught me how to crochet when I was only eleven and this skill inspired me to finally take up learning to knit only two years ago. I took up simple hand sewing to make...
